Name:

Alexis Carter

Witness Summary:

Prosecution’s 31st witness, Captain Alexis Carter of the military JAG Corps taught a Criminal Litigation course at Seminole State College. He Was Zimmerman’s teacher in the course. He remembers Zimmerman as “one of the better students”.

He is currently in the U.S. Army, serving as a JAG Corps prosecutor.

Captain West deviated from the textbook in discussing the Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground in the course that he taught. This makes it clear that Zimmerman, who he calls one of his best students, knew about these self defense laws despite lying about it on his interview with Sean Hannity.

His testimony destroys the prosecution here. What a disaster for them. Yeah, he taught Zimmerman about SYG and SF. But he explains the meaning of the law for the jury and unless they buy the absurd theory that Zimmerman concocted his story whole cloth because he was out “hunting,” they get a great explanation of self-defense. That no serious injury needs to occur for someone to act reasonably to prevent imminent bodily harm is reinforced by the Captain here. “The fact that there were injuries support that the person had a reasonable apprehension of fear.” You dropped the bomb on me, baby…

    Who is ‘Captain West’? LOL

He’s the kind of Black man that the Zimmermans approved of according to GZ’s cousin: a Black man that acts White. I liked him just the same. He was personable but he did not try to change the law to fit what ZMurder needed. He stated plainly what he thought he taught the class about SYG and SD. He knew what he was saying when he asked GZ “How’re you doing George?”. My eldest son was in the military and stationed at Ft Stewart. He is a prosecutorial lawyer. He is not there to help the soldiers if the military wants them out and he is not the one to go to for GZ if he wanted someone to help him. He was not there for that though. He was there to state what he thought he taught the class and “one of his better” students. I’ll say this though: You don’t get an A performing the minimum in class. GZ knew what SYG and SD was but his meds got in the way and he went to kill a fly with a bazooka.

Nice rant, but his last name is CARTER. WEST is one of the defence attorneys.
