Have question. how many discoveries can they give? Can they piecemeal the discovery over months? If thats the case I will never see 4, 7 , and 10 if they are vital to the case.

Thanks Cheri!  Corrrect me if I’m wrong, weren’t they suppose to release the rest of the remainding info per Judge Lester, within 15 days of his order. Except the remaining jail calls 151?, and or witness 9 statement. I know O’mara asked for a reconsidertion to those items I  want to see 4, 7 and 10.  They are holding onto those statements past their due date.   I keep thinking those remaining 3 are the key.

Hmmm… I will have to check into that. Are they really holding all of them, or is there nothing for those witnesses beyond the original police report?

It could be that those witnesses were never interviewed beyond the original police report, or that they don’t plan to use those witnesses.  Since the discovery is only for the evidence they plan to use to prove the case, we’re not entitled to see the information unless they will use it to make their case.

That said, I am not certain about which category into which those witnesses fall.

Witness 4,7 and 10 where listed on the first discovery dump on page 2 of 8. On page 4& 5 they list witness number 1 – 22 except 4, 7 , and 10. On the second discovery dump on page three Officer T Smith is the one who interviewed 4, 7, and 10 on Feb 26.  He also interviewed almost all the others.  I have been patiently waiting for those three and my patience is wearing thin! I heard O’mara comment at the bond hearing about the state having a witness. His carefully chosen words were. The state has a witness that says my client was challenging him. In other words what he is   really  saying is, the state has a witness that says they saw gz confronting him. He also said that the state did not provide that as of yet in discovery and doesn’t now if that is true or just some words throwing around. I think he was fishing. The state is not going to  tell O’mara a damn thing. If I was the state I would hold all my cards to the chest.

Right now, there’s been no information about that witness received from  the Florida State Attorney’s Office or the Sanford Police Department.  If/when they release it, we’ll be sure to post it right away.  :-)

From what I understand some of the witnesses the were corroborating GZ story wanted to change their testimony.  I don’t know if those were the witnesses and if they were still changing their stories.

Makes sense if they felt their first statements were not as accurate, and wanted to clarify what they said, like witness six.
