Austin McLendon and his sister (Witness 15) originally called 911 about the shooting. In days following the event, Austin, his mother (Cheryl Brown), and his sister did interviews with major news media outlets.

Witness Summary:

The witness states he saw someone lying on the ground who couldn’t get up. It looked like they had on a red shirt. He was outside while walking a dog. The person on the ground was yelling “help.” He says he only looked for a few seconds and only saw one person. He didn’t see how it happened. He didn’t see why he was yelling for help. He thought because it was wet outside that the person had fallen and broken his leg or something since it was wet outside. He only looked for a few seconds and saw only one person who was on the ground–nobody else.

Guest, you need to listen to his 911 call. He clearly states he just saw a guy on the ground screaming for help, and then a gunshot when off when he turned around to run after his dog.

  • keithsingleton@cox.net

Austin was racist and brainwashed enough to leave out the part about the black thug on top beating him. Sheesh! What is he peddling here, the Invisible Thug?

The boy was not interviewed on the 26th as he did not have a parent or guardian present. They had to wait on his mother to come home before they could interview him so he was interviewed for the 1st time on the 5th by Serino and Singleton. He WAS NOT led as you can hear for yourself.

The audio tape of the interview clearly shows that the Detective had a long talk with this witness PRIOR to turning the tape on.

Detective: “ok we gotta start all over again ok, now the sunday before last …”

Notice, he says “ok we gotta start all over again”

Clearly they had a conversation PRIOR to the tape being turned on which you can hear for YOURSELF

children make unreliable witnesses, might explain why his testimony is so strange.

Yes, I am certain that the fact his mother hired an attorney who is a former employee of Ben Crump has nothing to do with why he changed his statement.

      • http://www.facebook.com/wallace.corrigan Wallace Corrigan

The mother hired an attorney that had an uncle that knew a guy with the last name Crump. Makes about much sense as what your suggesting. Nothing has changed.

      • http://twitter.com/kclarkusa Kay

Why are you lying about the mother’s lawyer.

The mother’s lawyer NEVER worked for Ben Crump and she never worked with Ben Crump.

        Why you gotta lie man?

im confused about his interview and the moms statement. she says interviewer asked him what color was the guy wearing, was it black, white or red, and she felt like they shouldnt have said that. but thats not what i hear on the recording of the interview above. i hear,” did you see what he was wearing”?” umm no, it looked like a red shirt”.  so where does she get that they put he was wearing a red shirt into his head? can someone give me some input on this? was the interview from him above the very first interview he gave?

  • Ladyloree621

if i remember correctly, the investigator gave him a choice of colors.  He didn’t offer the color himself. She implied that the officer lead him to that color, that Austin didn’t say the color own his own.

Im sorry I should of said before his interview on march 5 the cops interviewing that night 2/26/12 suggested that the man in trouble had on a red shirt.

Isn’t his mother’s attorney, Alicia Adamson, a former employee of Ben Crump?

  • http://twitter.com/kclarkusa Kay

No. She never worked with or for Ben Crump.
